Case Study - Capitol House, London
Our client Sustainable Commercial Solutions, required a new Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) to be produced at Capitol House following the replacement of boilers and chillers. Prior to the improvements it had been an overall E rating. Capitol House is a London landmark property over 1,000 square meters in size, located in the West End.
TBS was commissioned to produce a new EPC for the improved property with a useful floor area of over 1,000 square meters, one of the largest EPCs produced by TBS.
Using Carbon Checker software, pdf files available for the property were readily imported into the modelling database, saving considerable time and cost for both site surveying and inputting information. The original EPC from 2008 rated the property as an E. TBSs modelling incorporating equipment efficiency ratings, lighting installations and controls meant that the updated EPC was a D.
- Improved EPC rating helping retain value on sale or lease of the property
- Protects against risk of non-compliance of Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES)
